Dusit International forms strategic partnership with Paxton Vacances Hotel Management Group in China

Shanghai, 23 February 2021 – Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, represented in China by Dusit Fudu Hotels and Resorts, has signed a strategic partnership with Paxton Vacances Hotel Management Group to operate and develop Dusit Princess Hotels and Resorts in China.

In line with Dusit’s strategy for sustainable and profitable growth, which includes expanding its presence in key locations throughout China, the partnership will see Paxton seek to sign Dusit-branded properties in major domestic destinations where Dusit has yet to have a presence. Active in China since 2010, Paxton currently operates more than 30 hotels under five brands in the country.

While international travel is expected to rebound slowly following the global COVID-19 pandemic, domestic tourism in China has already bounced back strong and demand for quality leisure and wellness holiday destinations is high.

According to a recent report from the China Tourism Academy, China’s domestic tourism market is expected to receive 10 billion visitors per year on average, with annual revenue reaching 10 trillion yuan (USD 1.5 trillion) in the next five years.

Dusit believes its strategic partnership with Paxton Vacances Hotel Management Group is ideally timed to tap this rising demand and expedite the expansion of its various brands in key locations.

“Our strategic partnership with Paxton Vacances Hotel Management Group marks a significant milestone in our mission to increase the scale and reach of our operations in China,” said Mr Lim Boon Kwee, Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International. “Paxton Group’s local knowledge and expertise, combined with our own experience, regional distribution channels, and distinctive brand of Thai-inspired gracious hospitality, will provide a truly compelling proposition for owners, guests, and communities alike. We look forward to establishing a long and prosperous relationship with the Paxton Group as they bring our popular Dusit brands to more locations throughout China.”

Mr Harry Hua, CEO of Paxton Vacances Hotel Management Group, said, “Like Dusit International, we are passionate about the quality of our products and services and always aim to exceed expectations in our pursuit of excellence. We have rich experience localising international brands, and by enhancing market share and brand awareness of the Dusit brands within China, we are confident we can make them a resounding success.”

Dusit’s portfolio now includes 340 properties operating under six brands across 15 countries. In China, the company currently operates 10 hotels and has over 20 properties confirmed in the pipeline. Four of these are slated to open this year, including Dusit Princess Hot Springs Resort Fengshun, Guangdong; Dusit Devarana Hot Springs Resort Wanfo Lake, Anhui; Dusit Princess Fuzhou, Fujian; and Dusit Princess Residences Ganzhou, Jiangxi.
