‘All in Good Taste’ at the new Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School

Guests enjoy a first look of the new facilities while experiencing new food products from Dusit Gourmet

Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, invited media and VIP guests to enjoy an exclusive preview of the new Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School as part of a special food and wine tasting event highlighting Dusit’s own food products and catering and events business.

Held on February 26 at Le Cordon Bleu Dusit’s new state-of-the-art premises at Zen Tower, CentralWorld, Bangkok, the special event, named ‘All in Good Taste,’ highlighted the synergy between Dusit’s various business units in taste, form and function.

Alongside being catered for by Dusit Events – Dusit’s new catering and events unit staffed by employees from the recently closed Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel – the event also saw Chef Rodolphe Onno, Culinary Director, Le Cordon Bleu Dusit, create an exquisite range of innovative canapés featuring premium curry and dipping sauces developed by Dusit’s new food division, Dusit Gourmet.

Guests enjoyed delectable Thai treats such as Poached chicken with lemongrass sweet chilli sauce; Steamed prawn with seafood sauce; and Green curry crab cake; alongside French-inspired creations like Duck leg confit with star anise, cinnamon, slow-cooked Phuket pineapple, and massaman sauce; and Poached chicken breast with kaffir lime rolls, green mango and cucumber sticks.

Dessert items included unique Thai-French creations such as Sweet coconut rice pudding spring roll with peanut satay ganache; Tom yum and strawberry macaron; and Green curry and coconut ice cream served on kaffir lime Sablé Breton.

Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Academic Manager Christophe Mercier, a highly skilled food and beverage professional and former sommelier, expertly paired Chef Rodolphe’s creations with a selection of handpicked wines from around the world.

Demonstrating Dusit’s expansion in the food business, the event also served as a warm welcome to the company’s new strategic partner, Epicure Catering, a leading provider of catering services to international schools in Southeast Asia. The heads of several leading international schools in Thailand were among the distinguished guests.

Speaking at the event, Ms Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO, Dusit International, said, “We’re delighted to host this event to mark the arrival of the new Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School, showcase Dusit Events and Dusit Gourmet, and welcome Epicure Catering to the Dusit family. These developments combined are a recipe for success, and we look forward to building a bright, nutritious and delicious future together.”

Mr Trevor Allen, Managing Director, Epicure Catering, said, “We share many common values with Dusit, none greater than our shared passion to serve our customers to their complete satisfaction. With access to Dusit’s state-of-the-art training facilities, and the chance to source some of the best young, enthusiastic staff coming into the market, we will be able to do this better than ever in the future. So there is a lot to look forward to under this partnership.”

Mr Michel Peters, Joint Venture Director, Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School, said he was honoured to welcome guests to experience the new school, which offers expert tuition from world-class chefs. “The new school is a testament to Dusit’s commitment to creating enduring value for all of its stakeholders, and we are very pleased to have this opportunity to showcase this new facility which can accommodate even greater numbers of students,” he said. “The additional space also allows us to enhance our usual offerings by introducing short courses in culinary arts, Italian foods, sugar, and chocolate work, as well as wine, cheese, and food pairing courses, so this really is an exciting new chapter for us.”
