ASAI Bangkok Chinatown's employee orientation day signals exciting things to come

Ahead of the new hotel's opening on 15 September, the team gathers for a day of fun activities and insightful local tours.

Great news, everyone! ASAI Hotels – Dusit's new lifestyle brand designed to link millennial-minded travellers with vibrant local experiences – is set to make its debut this month with the opening of ASAI Bangkok Chinatown in the heart of the city's renowned Chinatown district.

Slated to open on 15 September, the new property will feature 224 thoughtfully compact rooms (ranging from 18 – 26 sq m) whose contemporary and clean design emphasises the essentials, such as superior quality beds and high-pressure rain showers. A large communal space, meanwhile, includes large and comfortable work areas, a small gym, a bar highlighting craft beers and creative cocktails, a large courtyard with organic herb garden, and Jam Jam restaurant serving a creative twist on local and international favourites.

The Lobby enjoyed a sneak peek of the hotel when we dropped by recently to check out its orientation day – a vibrant and fun occasion which lived up to the brand's concept, Live Local, by including a tour of top local eateries and attractions.

After a morning of inspiring presentations by Group CEO Ms Suphajee Suthumpun, and ASAI Hotels' Managing Director Siradej Donavanik – plus a quick break to sample nutritious food from KAUAI (which will be available as a grab-and-go option at the hotel) – the various departments split into teams and headed out into the neighbourhood.

Their mission: to return later in the afternoon and act out their various experiences so the rest of their colleagues could get a taste of what they encountered too. The animated and hilarious performances were a treat to watch, and demonstrated the high-energy and infectious enthusiasm of the hotel's team.

We can't wait to stay for ourselves when ASAI Bangkok Chinatown officially opens its doors next week.
